Saving Money - 7 Steps to Save Money
By Mark Nelson
Don't have enough money? Does it seem like at the end of the month, there is more month than money?
With that thought it mind I thought I would print out a series of ideas that would help people save money. This is the first of 5 days.
7 Ways To Save Money
- Write everything down that you spend your money on. Even the littlest item or amount. When you see what you are spending your money on you will become a more careful spender.
- Make a budget. You already have written everything down you spend your money on. Now is the time to make a budget and see if there is a way you can save money each month.
- Pay yourself first. This is the best way to start getting ahead. If possible set yourself up on an automatic system that takes money out of your check and puts it in a savings account or where every you are saving money.
- Make sure you pay all your bills on time. There is nothing more frustrating than getting a late payment fee. That's how banks make money. Set yourself up on an automatic payment plan.
- Try paying with cash. Instead of always using a credit or debit card carry a little cash. It is way too easy to spend when you are using plastic.
- Stop your impulse buying. Learn to walk away from the item to think clearly about it. Better yet ask yourself if you need this item or you can live without it.
- On any larger items rather than just walking away. Give yourself a 30 day waiting period. Make sure that this is the item you need.
